New York has been my favorite city from day number one. The energy, the people and the spirit is pure excitement and never gets boring. This city makes you feel so alive and has so much to offer. Every time i go back I am just as excited as it was the first time. Therefore i wanted to share a few of my favorite places and restaurants in the big apple.

Bluestone Lane

Seeing so many pictures of this place on Instagram made me wanna go there as soon as I got to NY. The Avocado toast was AMAZING. They use Balthazar bread, which is one of the best bakeries in town so no wonder the toast was on point :-)! So cross and delicious, with tons of avocado and cherry tomatoes. Exactly how i like it. 🙂

Union Square Farmer’s Market

Farmer’s Markets are so much fun. I love to explore markets and this one is one of my favourites. It is so unusual to have farmers markets in the middle of a buzzy area and i guess that’s what makes this market so special. I always buy lots of different greens as i love to make green smoothies when I’m traveling. 🙂

Juice Press

Juice Press is by far my favourite juice store ever. The choice of amazing juices is huge and they all are so healthy and delicious. My favourite juices are Mother Earth, Ginger Fire Ball and OMG. The food choices are amazing as well! I can’t walk out there without getting the Kelp Noodles, The I Love Kale Salad or the most delicious Butternut Squash Soup. This place should definitely be on your bucket list next time you are visiting New York.

Cafe Gitane

Cafe Gitane is such a cute morning spot. Best place to start the day and to enjoy a delicious avocado toast. Fun fact: I ate my first avocado toast here 5 years ago! 😀

Soho House

The Soho House is located in the meatpacking district and has one of the best pools and rooftops in the city. It is definitely one of my favourite places to hang out as you meet so many interesting people. You also have an amazing view over downtown Manhattan.

Thanks for all the recomendations!! It’s really helpful to have a guide of places to eat when you are a vegan. Especially in places like NY and all the big cities! You trurly are an inspiration Caroline!

Hi Caroline,

I have been vegan for almost a year now, but I have been eating way too much unhealthy food like meat replacements and oils. I made the decision to start eating the way you do for a much healthier lifestyle. I saw on a few of your posts you mentioned you like to eat dishes such as dim sum, curry, and avocado toast out at restaurants. Because restaurants typically put oil in all of these dishes (or the bread has oil baked into it), do you ask for them to leave it out or indulge every once in a while?

    Hi jane
I eat 80% whole foods and an oil free / salt free diet, so when I go out to restaurant to have curries and dims for instance I don’t mind the oil and salt so much☺️☺️ Its good to have a balance between eating very healthy and cooking food yourself and enjoying other foods too! :):) I also love the experience of trying new restaurants and just having a great time with friends sometimes even if that means eating not as healthy as usually
    hope that helps☺️
