SPINACH & PINEAPPLE SMOOTHIE

Hey Guys 🙂

Green Smoothies have played a big part in my vegan journey!! 🙂 They are the ultimate health drink and the easiest way to include more greens into your diet. 🙂 There is noting as dense in nutrients as fresh green smoothies. 🙂 If you have read my blog post about Juice Fasting you know that I recommend to drink Smoothies regularly to balance out the sugar we eat. Green Smoothies are are packed with chlorophyll, protein and fibre.

Here is a new combo that I have really enjoyed making lately. 🙂

INGREDIENTS

  • Spinach
  • Parsley
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 small piece of ginger
  • Pineapple or Mango
  • Water (I usually use 300ml for 1 portion)

METHOD

  • Put all the ingredients in a high speed blender (I use a Vitamix 750) and blend until smooth

TIPS

  • Aim for 70% Greens & 30% fruits in your smoothie. That way they are super healthy and taste great 🙂
  • Pre wash the greens and store them in a container to save time in the morning
  • Always try to buy spinach, parsley, swiss chard, kale etc. organic – they have over 50% more nutrients than non organic greens
  • Greens last up to 3-4 days in the fridge, so you only need to go shopping twice a week
  • Drink Green Smoothies in the morning! You´ll be surprised how much your sweet cravings will change.
  • Enjoyyyyy :-))) Look at it as your skincare in a glass 🙂

Did you ever swap blender for juicer? Is there a difference in taste? Would you say green smoothies are even healthier than green juices? I tried your recipe in a juicer (minus the water) and it was awesome – should I swap the juicer (lots of cleanup to do) for a blender?
Thanks a lot, love your site and work, Elodie

    Hi Elodie 🙂
    Thank you so much!! ☺️
I am a big fan of my blender because you get all the fibre from fruits & veggies whereas a juice doesn’t have that. I also have Greenstar cold pressed juicer though which is great but it takes quite long to clean and I find a blender more convenient. 🙂
    Hope that helps :):)

Hi! Do you eat bananas ? Cause I personally love them and found them as my main energy source. But I don’t know is it good ?

Caroline Deisler November 2, 2017 Reply

Hi Martha 🙂 I LOVE bananas!!! They are amazing!! Rich in potassium, fibre and VB6!! Bananas are such a good source of carbohydrates, especially on a high carb vegan diet :):)

Hi Caroline,

Do you always add chlorella or spirulina in your green smoothies? Where do you usually get them?

Thanks in advance 🙂

Alisa

Caroline Deisler March 14, 2018 Reply

Hi Alisa I recently started doing that and love it!! It´s a great way to add Iron, protein and B12 and you don’t really taste it that much.☺️
I use the ones from Naturya.
    Hope that helps!

Hey Caroline,

Hi Caroline,
I’m Italian and I am a big fan of your account, I follow you every single day on socials because your natural lifestyle is what help me to not care about others opinions and, moreover, because I simply can’t believe to have found someone as you with who I can share my ideas and opinions. I sincerely hope to not disturb but I’d want make you some questions about the best food to help improve my hair health; I have to precise I don’t like avocados and I evade from fatty foods as seeds and oils but, on the other hand,I also eat planty of fruit and vegetables (that are absolutely my favorite foods, I can’t stay without it!); but even thought, I have lost lots of hair and they still seems demaged.
What can you suggest me?

Thanks in advance, xxx❤

    Hi Francesca

apologies for my late response!!! Dark leafy greens, Avocados(even if you don’t like them) , Brazil nuts and all fruits and vegetables are great for hair!! Maybe make sure you are eating a broad variety of foods and don’t always stick to the same ones:):) Green Smoothies also help a lot to get more leafy greens in like spinach, kale, parsley etc, :):)

    xx Caroline
